Those stones are still on the bridge and I myself lifted one in each hand on many occasions and one market day, I carried them across the bridge and back, some four to five yards - Donald Dinnie.

Paul Shearer is the son of Imlach Shearer who also lifted the Dinnies in the early 1970s. Paul managed a partial unassisted lift of the stones making the Shearer family the second in history to put the wind under the stones since Dinnie and his father. Paul's lift was witnessed by Imach Shearer, Brett Nicol, Jim & Rosemary Splaine, Lydia Nicol and the spectators in attendance.
